I am a lecturer in ecological economics at the Sustainability Research Institute at the University of Leeds.
My research examines the connections between resource use (energy and materials, greenhouse gas emissions) and societal performance (economic and human wellbeing). I am interested in quantifying the current and historical linkages between resource use and socioeconomic parameters, and identifying alternative development pathways to guide the necessary transition to a low carbon society.
From 2007 to 2010, I was a senior researcher at the Institute of Social Ecology in Vienna, Austria. In 2006-2007, I was a postdoc in industrial ecology at the University of Lausanne (IPTEH) and University of Zurich with Prof. Claudia Binder, now in Graz.
